Need advise for 3 days Switzerland trip.

Hello,
we (2 adults, one 8 year old kid) are planning to visit Switzerland this June 3rd week for 3 days (arriving first day morning and returning third night back).

I have done some research and found these places are nice to see interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Lungern, luzern, Gruyères, Murren, weesen.

We are planning to start our vacation from London to Paris and then Switzerland then back to London directly.

1. Is it better going to Switzerland from Paris by train if so which station would be easier and closer to above mentioned places.

2. If we go by train to Switzerland returning back to London which way is better by train or flight and which city has more frequency to London?

3. For one night hotel which place is ideal to stay?

4. I heard trains are excellent transportation to go to in Switzerland, if we want to visit these places is there any local train to just get down all these places.

We really like to see nice mountain views, at least one cable car with nice country side views.

Thanks in advance.

well, you dont have realy much of time so you need to focus on mainly one thing....

it realy depends on where you will be staying in switzerland... but if you want to combine some things i would suggest Luzern or Interlaken... you can get to Zürich or Basel by train from paris and then go on to one of those two citys...

From Luzern you will have the realy nice lakeside city life.... and in june its gonna be warm and realy nice next to the lake... you will be able to make a 1day trip up mt. Titlis, which will give you excellent mountain feeling...
In addition, in Luzern is the Mobility Museum.. it shows ground- sea- and air-vehicles from all kinds, has an imax cinema etc etc... for an 8year old kid this is absolutely fantastic.. you should consider taking the half day trip there...

otherwise, interlaken would be the other possibility.. you can then take a 1day trip into the Berner Oberland and see places liike Lauterbrunnen or Wengen, the small mountain village feeling... problem is, there isnt a lot more than nice villages and breathtaking views...

interlaken however, is not exactly on the way when coming from paris.. so its a question, on how long you want to travel...

in the end, both of them are very good options for your case... personally, i would prefer Luzern...

Thanks travelzomg. This really helps. As you said i will prefer to stay in Luzern. But i will visit interlaken also one day by local trains (I am not sure which train would be good with some nice big windows).

To stay in Luzern which station would be ideal to go to switzerland (Zurich or Basel or Geneve) from paris. I am planning to go back to London from Zurich directly.

Thanks.

There are trains from the Zurich airport direct to Luzern. It's about an hour. You can return in the same way. No need to stay in Zurich overnight.

And Lucerne makes the perfect introduction to Switzerland. There's an excursion that consists of a boat on the lake, a funicular up to the top of Mt. Pilatus, a gondola connecting to a ski lift that ends up in the outskirts of Lucerne. The whole Swiss experience in one day!

Thats excellent Mimar. I think thats good, going to Zurich from Paris by train (can anyone suggest if any other trains other than TGV, how soon can i book the train tickets?) and then from Zurich to Lucerne(staying in a hotel here) by train again.

Excursion option in Lucerne is a good idea. do you know any particular excursion name? I am hoping that the cable car to Mt Pilatus is also included in the excursion.

May be next day i can go to interlaken by one of those big panaromic windows trains just to see the country side views.

Is there any thing that anyone suggest to see in interlaken that is not there in Lucerne?

Thanks.
