Native or fluent Spanish speaker needed!

I thought I'd be more likely to get the answer I need on this board rather than in the lounge.

I need to say "call to prayer," in Spanish, as in the call that the muzzein (spelling?) makes from the minaret. I've made a guess, but I'm reluctant to post it because it's probably laughable.

Can anyone help me?

Pegontheroad,
"THE call to prayer"=la llamada al rezo

"TO call to prayer"=llamar al rezo

Thanks, Maribel. That's close to what I had, but not exactly.

I would choose "llamada a la oración". It sounds better to me, although I have just done a quick check, and it seems that in South America they are most likely to use "Llamado".

Bye, Cova

Yep, I knew that's what you would say, cova! O

Both are used on Spanish web sites speaking about the Muslim ritual.

Just looked that "llamado a la oración up. Had never heard it that way.
