Naples apartment location help
I am looking for an apartment for an upcoming 7 night stay in Naples. I am confused about which district to stay in. I have found appealing apartments in Chaia, Vomero, Santa Lucia and the Spanish Quarter. I could use help narrowing my location options. Thanks.

Are you looking for an upscale locale or bustle and convenience? We wanted the latter so narrowed our apartment choices to ones that were close to Via Toledo and ultimately close to the Toledo or Dante metro stations. It put us close to the Spanish Quarter and the historical center.

We chose to stay near the Toledo stop, too—although not in an apartment. We liked that it put us in easy walking distance to a good part of the city and allowed for easy Metro access when we needed it. I hope you love Naples as much as we did!

I was in Naples for three nights as a solo female traveler in 2015 and stayed in the historical center at the Hotel Piazza Bellini, which now offers apartments, Apartment Studio | Apartments | Hotel Piazza Bellini Napoli. Coming from a glitzy, manicured area of Orange County, CA, I welcomed a good dose of authentic grittiness and the location was perfect for the sightseeing I wanted to do. I went up to the Vomero to visit the Certosa de San Martino. While that area was lovely, it would have been inconvenient for my short, sights-focused stay. The hotel staff cautioned me not to venture too far from Toledo when in the Spanish Quarter.

Thanks! This is great. You all are giving me a feel for where to focus my searching. bon_voyage, thanks for linking Piazza Bellini. The apartments with terrace are exactly what I am looking for. It would be nice to have the added plus of some hotel services. One of the apartments on my short list is located a three minute walk around the corner from there.

I also stayed at Hotel Piazza Bellini (also a solo female traveler) and was very happy with the location. If you stay there, the best pizza you're likely to have is about two minutes away. Turn right out of the hotel, walk to Via Port d'Alba, turn right to find the restaurant of the same name. Yum! 😁
