Hello,
We are going to Greece in May. I read on the Greece government website that "The vaccination certificate must include the full name of the traveller as registered in the passport". Does anyone have first-hand experience with this, or know how picky/exact the Greece government is? Our CDC vaccination certificates include our first name, middle initial, and last name. Our passports include our first name, middle name, and last name. Will the middle initial on our certificates be sufficient? Or do we need to get new vaccination certificates issued? If so, where would we do this? Am I being paranoid about this?

I posted the same question on the Rick Steves travel forum, and someone responded that generally Europe does not use middle initials or middle names on forms, so as long as our first names and last names match on both documents we are safe. Would like to hear from other people as well.

Thank you for any advice/help you can give.

My passport has my middle names, the vaccination certificate only first and last name. This is fine, I've travelled using this passport and vaccine certificate several times in the past 6 months.

Assuming you still need it in May first and last names are fine.
Some people use their maiden name on some documents and their married on others, or are generally known by their second name and have used that on some things whereas the passport uses the first name. Or a name is spelled wrong. Then it can be a problem. Make sure the date of birth s correct as well.

Tulips and hetismj2, thank you for taking the time to respond. I know I am probably over-thinking this. I feel much better now.

I just read an article that Greece might abolish the vaccination certificate requirement just before Easter to make it easier for people to travel. We will always have our vaccination certificates with us, though. I believe they are as essential as our passports when traveling these days.

And for whoever is interested, Greece has now abolished the Passenger Locator Form, as of March 16.

Karen, I also heard Greece is likely to do away with the vaccination card requirement, as they just did with the PLF. Understand they no longer require an international drivers license either.

I’m looking at requirements for Italy too as we go there first before Greece. I believe the Green Pass is no longer enforced, though of course we’ll carry our vaccination cards whenever we travel abroad.

Geetika, I have rented a car for a day when we are in Santorini. I used Tony's car rental, and he instructed us to bring our international drivers license. So I think you should bring one with you just in case.

There is no such thing as an "international drivers license". The is an intl drivers PERMIT which is merely a std form filled out, and certified by the agency allowed to make those, with your info in a manner that is knowable by those who can't read English. I think it translates into a bunch of languages.

Yes, Christina, you are correct that it is an international drivers permit. I was reading from Tony's email, and he mistakenly referred to the permit as a license.
