Rome Hotels for a family of 4: please help me choose

All the tripadvisor reviews seem great on these three hotels, and I'm wondering how you fodorites would compare them. I would really appreciate any input.

All three are quoting about the same for July 08:

Albergo cesari - 225 euro
-a quad w/ 4 beds, incl breakf

Parlamento – 232 euro
--a quad w/ 4 beds, incl breakf

Residenza Antica-Roma -- 230 euro
-- a suite
(or a quad for 190 euro)

**We're only staying 2 nights, so if you know of a great apartment that will allow only 2 nights, I'd love to hear about that, too.

Thank you!!
Dina

Dina,
I don't know what your budget is but we had a quad at the Hotel des Artistes. I think that it was alot less expensive.

Thanks for your reply, Jay.

The Hotel d'Artiste does look fantastic, but I was really hoping for a location closer to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, etc.

Thanks, Bob.

Yes, it seems it's my favorite location of the three.
Is it on a quiet street?
Are the beds comfortable?

Thanks again,
dina

Ugh -- just realized i misread the July quote. The Cesari is actually 340 euros before the 15th of July.

Not sure if it's worth it?

Hi Randola,

I just looked at the website for the San Pantaleo, and i couldn't see the pictures of the rooms. That worries me a bit.

Can you tell me a bit about it?
Most of the reviews on Tripadvisor are great, but a recurring theme of cigarette smoke worries me.

thanks!

hotel santa maria in trastevere..discount for cash payment and a great location in a trendy neighborhood. charming rooms and large bathrooms for european standards. Stayed there this past november. Easy walk across the river to piazza navona...15-20 min walk to the vatican..

hmmm....seems to be a website glitch, the page with the room pics isn't fully loading. we found no problems with a smoke smell at all. the quad room was a double bedfor my husband and me, a sofa bed for one of the kid and a rollaway for the other.

we were very happy there as we were very central to all the sites. breakfast is included at the cafe across the way but my husband and i found a great little coffee shop down the road and went there instead. a caffe doppio and a croissant at the bar was so much more authentic....lol.

there is free internet on the hotel computer but they take away the keyboard around midnight so no late nite fodor posting!! lol
