Mykonos or Rhodes?

Plan on spending just under a week on a Greek island to relax on after a a weeklong trip to Athens and the Peloponnese.

Originally had my eye on Mykonos and the Mykonos Grand in particular, but now Rhodes is beginning to grow on me... The Lindos Mare and Lindos Blu both look very attractive as well!

My priorities are:
- Nice hotel room with a good bed(!)
- Quiet and attractive setting with a great view, preferably seafront
- Nice beach(es), preferably right at the hotel or within walking distance
- Good food
- Local attractions

Can someone help? Please don't confuse things by suggesting yet another island ;-)

Both islands are very touristy. But I won't mention any alternatives!

Rhodes is a big island; the city itself is also fairly big, has lots of historical structures and nice out of the way places in the hgills to visit (by car).

Mykonos is more compact, easier to cover, more laid back. Interesting one-day outing by boat is to Delos. Mykonos, in my opinion, has the better beaches.

Can't help you with hotels. The one where we stayed on Mykonos is no longer owned by the same woman; didn't like the Rhodes hotel. Too many tour groups; as a private traveller, you always feel a seconad class citizen compared to the tour groups.
