Peg, I am your age and a tad older, my suggestion is a river cruise. What I like about them is that you can have your own room (if you pick the right cruise line, and not pay a single supplement). You can go out on "easy" days of van/bus transport or shorter walks, and pace yourself. I particularly like Tauck river cruises, have been on 3.....London/Paris/Normandy, Rhine/Mozelle, and Xmas markets in Germany. Not so many people on these smaller ships. Good way to travel when older, in my opinion. this is a US company that now is in Europe for river cruises, and a tad better than some others. I am in no way affiliated with this, just like to travel. Try to have a friend, younger family member along for occasional assist. Try it, I think you might like it.

I immediately thought of our safari in Tanzania when I read your first message. We had a terrific time driving in a comfortable van through beautiful national parks and the Serengeti talking with our guide and marveling at the wildlife.

Whatever you decide, I hope you don't stop traveling!

Buenos Aires. There might not be non-stop flights from Washington state, but there are non-stop flights from Houston, Dallas, N.Y. and Miami and who knows, maybe some other cities. Maybe do a combo trip and fly to a spot where there's a non-stop flight to Buenos Aires and then spend time in that city either before flying on or on the way home from the trip. Plus, it only takes around ten and a half hours to get to Buenos Aires on a non-stop from Texas. When I went there, in 2008, there were no non-stop flights from L.A., so I had to change planes in N.Y., and it was a very late-night flight out of JFK. Just a thought.

Happy Travels!
