I haven't been to Turin, but have to say that we loved Santa Margherita Liguria (went last year for three nights at the Hotel Miramare and absolutely loved it), and the area around Nice is beautiful, as is Gordes and the Luberon. In my opinion you've given a good amount of nights to each.
Have fun! Others will chime in soon, I'm sure.

Thanks....We leave from NYC early September....Turin is City that my husband has always wanted to visit and we Fly into Milan, so a short trip after an overnight flight.
We are staying at Metrople Holtel in Santa Margerita, I think similar to Miramare!

Looks like your hotel is very close to the train station in SML. It’s a lovely little town, and there is such a beautiful walk from SML to Portofino, along the water. And right next to Villefranche-sur-Mer is Beaulieu-sur-Mer, where the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and Villa Kerylos are located (you can walk from one to the other). It’s absolutely gorgeous. Sigh.

Iwantogo, we were set on staying in Antibes, it was hard to find a convenient location with the car...and now staying in Villefranche -su -Mer, without a car...Trains easily go up and down the coast...minds changing all the time. Thanks Fodors!

Make sure you do the lovely Maurice Rouvier walk from Beaulieu to St Jean Cap Ferrat, passing the villa once owned by David Niven on the way.
I was in SML a couple of weeks ago. We visited Camoglia and actually preferred that over Portofino.

If you want to stay in the heart of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona, and yet be in a very quiet plaza with tons of history, I highly recommend the unique Hotel Neri. Part of the hotel dates from the 12th century, and the other part from the 18th century, and it's as modern and elegant as it gets. By far our best hotel experience after much traveling in Spain the past 30 years:

https://www.booking.com/hotel/es/nerihr.en-gb.html
15 % discount if booked and payed 15 days in advance:

The hotel is on the Plaça Sant Felip Neri, a very special place in Barcelona that relatively few know about. The Neri plaza was important from the middle ages, Antoni Gaudí used to go to the Neri church opposite the hotel to pray every day, and a dramatic Civil War history lives on, visible for everyone to se, in the square: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/...elip-neri.html

Thanks, Kimhe. I checked it out and there is only one bedroom deluxe Apartment available for my dates.....not sure that's what I was looking for but we are 4 and need 2 rooms. I booked 2 rooms at The Whittmore - looks interesting and has great reviews. I booked all hotels with free cancellation, happy with my selections and rooms are getting sold out fast! However, I appreciate the recommendation I think people book free cancellation then cancel so I check the website all the time.
