museumkaart vs I Amsterdam and tram tickets
We will be visiting Amsterdam for 4 days and in the Netherlands for total of 9 days. I understand that the museumkaart is not a great deal for a short term visit, but is the I Amsterdam better? Is it worth it to get the Museumkaaart? We are planning to go to the Rikjsmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Dutch Resistance Museum , Frans Hals in Haarlem and a few others. Does having it help with avoiding await in line to get in?
Similarly, for travel around Amsterdam , there seem to be several options for paying for travel on trams. The OV chipkaart - if we buy one that is "anonymous, can both my husband and I use the same card? Once loaded, can it be added to? I don't know if we would use 150Euros in 4 days - we do enjoy walking for exploring, but we are no longer "young" ( except in spirit). Or is the GVBAmsterdam multi day card a better option? We may visit Haarlem while in Amsterdam. However, after 4 days, we will leave Amsterdam and will be renting a car and exploring by car
any tips here will be appreciated. I don't want to waste time researching once there and find it kind of confusing with the various options.
Thanks in advance, I have gotten lots of good advice here!

The museumkaart doesn't help with queue jumping. Places like the Van Gogh, and many other museums now have timed entry only, which you book online. The temporary pass is only valid for five museums before you need to register it online. https://www.museum.nl/en/museumpass
Read the FAQ.
You both need an OV chipkaart or whatever if you are travelling together. Where are you exploring further? The OV chipkaart is valid throughout the Netherlands on all public transport, whereas the GVB card is only for Amsterdam. You can add money to the OVchip at stations and machines in shops.

Don't forget to checkout when you leave the bus/tram/train!
You would need to do the sums on whether an I Amsterdam is better for you. Check all the museums you wish to visit and see if they also require timed entry. Some which previously didn't introduced it during Covid restrictions and have decided to keep it.

Thank you Heismij2. Now I understand we will both need OV chipkaart but we can keep re-upping it. The I Amsterdam does include transit but I will have to do some figuring, sometimes weather determines how many museum visits we want to do! Hard to predict outside of the must -see ones. It's good to have choices, but can be hard to know which is best. Maybe there is no best, there are several good options!
