Museum of Decorative Arts

Just a little confused and want to see if I have this right. The Museum of Decorative Arts....completely separate from The Louvre-correct? Separate tickets required-correct? Is there a section of the Louvre for decorative arts?

I don't know why I can't get this straight in feeble brain. Help me sort it out.

yes, it is a separate museum but right next door. You can't just walk between them inside, which you could if they were the same museum on the same ticket. It's similar to the V&A in London as a museum type. http://www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr/en/

You can buy a combination ticket with the Musee de Nissim Camondo for just a bit more than the basic ticket.

Yes, the Louvre has a dept for decorative arts, as various museums do -- that's the dept with all that royal jewelry, apartments, vases, etc. A lot is in the Richelieu wing.

It's in the same complex. If you have any interest in decorative arts, allow plenty of time.

Ah, thank you! I needed someone to confirm this for me. Maybe because it is next door that made it more confusing for me.

I was on the website last week looking for exhibits in Sept/Oct and noticed there was an interesting fashion exhibit there in December.....can't remember exactly what it was but it might be something you'd enjoy.
