Musee de l'Orangerie in Paris-is it closed?
There is a post on this site saying the Orangerie is closed until December 2002. I have some old info from a previous visit which said it will be closed in 1999 "until 2000". I have checked their website and see no mention of it being closed, but don't know how up to date that is. Has anyone been there recently?

Rex, Thanks so much for the info. There was previously a somewhat nasty response to a question I asked from someone who said I should just get the info from the official sites instead of asking here - implied laziness on my part. But, as you can see, the official site is not giving the correct info, and by asking here I was saved the wasted time of going to l'Orangerie.

Gee, xx, lighten up a little. Actually, I was ON my fat ass doing the research and was getting conflicting info from various websites, so thought I would ask. If you think the postings here are so worthless, why do you waste your time monitoring and answering?

Closed for another yearat least - they keep pushing back the date. But to see wonderful Monets, go to Musee Marmaottan. Beautiful museum in old restored house with many original Monets. Head downstairs to see them - if you like Monet you'll love this place. <BR>2 rue Louis-Boilly - Metro: La Muette For more Paris information e-mail me: [email protected]
