Munich Opera tickets

Are there half price or discount tickets available for last minute (day-of) purchase for the Bavarian State Opera? Something like the half price tickets booth in Times Square NY or the half price tickets booth for London theater?

Hi abbekit,
I searched the web and all I can tell you is to go there something like 1 and 1/2 houirs (website says 1)hour before the prgramme starts and get one of the left-over tickets for half price.
Main entrancance ticket booth.

By the way, this is the case with most German Theatres.

Thanks Kascha, I'll try that. How did you find that info on the web?

google search for the homepage of the Staatsoper, then went through their ticket section (as far as I remember).

I hope you will have a wonderful evening!
We're off for Greatbritain tomorrow, but depending on when you're going to Germany I'd be happy to be of help from the 15th on again...

Just beware of ticket brokers. We bought tickets from NWTIX here prior to leaving for Europe. We paid $100.00 each for 2 opera tickets in Paris and sat in the worst seats ever(upper balcony on the side where you had to elan over to see the stage) they cost 10 Euros ($11.00) and were bought by scalpers in front of the opera house. Heck we could have done that. Don't buy tickets if you don't know where they are. Expensive lesson to learn for us!
