Munich hotel w/4 year old

I am looking for a very nice hotel in Munich during May with my wife and 4 year old. Looking to spend around under $200/night either close to center or subway. Also I would like the hotel to have a pool.

Thanks for your help!

Here is a list of 21 hotels with pools, some out of your price range. I am not familiar with any of them, but I'm sure others here are.

One of them should work for you and your family.

Try using hotelbook or utell for possible discounts for some of these although under $200 a night is going to limit your choices (especially if you are looking for a pool) considerably.

Just back from a six night stay at the Munich Marriott, which I obtained on a Priceline bid. With all taxis and fees it only cost me $72.27 a night.U-bahn station is only about 200 meters from the entrance of the hotel.

Munich tourist office knows all the hotels and private accommodations. You won't find a more complete list anywhere else.

Either use their online booking system or, if you have specific questions, contact them by phone or mail.

Our family stayed at the Marriott a few years ago when our daughter was young. We had Marriott points and were able to stay three nights for free. The hotel is in the Schwabing area, and you'll have to take the subway to the center, but it does have a really nice pool. However, it's a big business-type hotel and not very unique.

If you can forgo the pool, I highly recommend the Acanthus Hotel, which is just a short walk from the Marienplatz and very close to bus and subway. We've been there several times with our daughter, and it's a really special place. The Marionette Theater is just down the street. See their website here: http://www.acanthushotel.de/main_ie.html and I have a review posted here: http://www.slowtrav.com/other/hotels...l&s=munich We have stayed there since I wrote this review and had a very nice triple room.

We were in Munich last December with a three year old and stayed at the Dorint Softitel. This hotel is just a block from the main train station and not far from the city center. It was very nice (modern) and had a great pool in the spa area. We took our daughter to the pool every night and she loved it. Our room had a nice sitting area downstairs with a bedroom upstairs.
