Motorcycle tours info needed

Hello there
Some friends of mine are active motorcyclists and somebody has told them about motorcycle tours available in Europe, more specific Austria, Germany, northern Italy.
Anyone here been on one of those tours? Are they worth it for a first time traveller to Europe? Any info is much appreciated.
Have a great Holiday weekend one and all!

I don't know of specific tours but I think a good place to start would be to contact a BMW or Ducati dealer in the US and they can probably get you going

You will find several good sources on-line regarding motorcycle rentals and tours originating in most countries in Europe especially Switzerland, Germany, France and Spain. Both tours and rentals are offered by motorcycle dealers in many of the major cities, but neither tours nor rentals come cheap, so be prepared to pay. You will also need to bring your own certified motorcycle helmet or rent one from the dealer/tour operator when you arrive. And you will need to purchase motorcycle insurance to cover both you and the machine.

The best advice is to book far in advance. Motorcycle rentals and tours are both very popular. If you don't book early enough you may not be able to reserve a good road bike and have to settle for something around 650 cc's or smaller.

Thank you for the replies.
I have found a tour online, but was hoping someone has first hand experience with them. One of the reasons was the price, my friends were told about $2000 each, but what I found was more around $3500 for the rider and $3000 for passanger, and if you wanted a bigger bike, keep on adding.
Will keep on searching.
Thanks again!

Edelweiss Tours. We are going on our third. I just saw your post, and if you haven't traveled through the Alps on a motorcycle (BMWs) you have mssed quite an adventure. We have been very happy with this company.
