Valletta, Malta--indeed, all of Malta. The colors just glowed and gleamed, and that golden stone, blue sky, and water...

But of course it's all pretty much subjective, eh?

It is about 15 miles west of Bourton-on-the-water, which is also cool when the tourist buses aren't there.

Thank you all for your response!! I cannot wait to see those places!

I don't see Istanbul, Turkey. Fodorites raved about this city. I went out and bought the GuideBook and am planning my trip to that country. Now I am wondering if I am setting myself up for disappointment?

Istanbul is glorious and quite photogenic. It's impossible to name all the best site for photos, as so much depends on time of day/season/personal preferences and so forth.

Just the Hagia Sofia alone can wear out your camera batteries.
