mosquee de paris hammam

Do I need reservations for a massage at the Mosquee de Paris? I would love to visit the baths during my June stay in the Latin Quarter but I am having trouble finding specific information.

I also need to know which days of the week the baths are open to women. The mosquee's website www.mosquee-de-paris.com is in French (too bad for me). When I do a google for other info on the hammam there are English language websites that offer only general information.

Try http://www.freetranslation.com/.

If you copy and paste the URL, it will translate the whole page (well sorta)

Actually, I don't think their web site gives any info on the hammam, anyway, for some reason. I've never seen it on there.

I've read in some Parisian publications (more than one) that currently hours for women are M, W, Th and Sat 10 am to 9 pm and Fri 2-9 pm. There are fewer hours for men than women nowadays (Tu 2-9 and Sun 10-9 for men).

I'm not sure, but I don't think you need to make any advance appointment, you just pay for what you want when you get there.

This is listed in any guide book. I know it was in Fodors. I think it is Monday, Thurs and Saturday. Books also recommended to leave time for tea and for plentiful plates of couscous. I didn't go in, but I walked there in April, and looked at the outside.

Hi, does someone here have more information on this? I'm interested in putting this on the list of things to do for the coming Sunday (Time Out does say that it's open until 9pm for men on Sundays).

I can't find any information on the website either.

What about reservations? Christina seems to think that they're not necessary. Someone knows for sure?

Thanks!

I've found this off the Times article hot off the press --

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/29/tr...9leftbank.html

Colorful mosaics decorate the Hammam, or Arab baths, at the Grande Mosquée de Paris, 39, rue Geoffroy St.-Hilaire, Fifth, (33-1) 43.31.18.14 or (33-1) 43.31.38.20; admission $18.75. A steam bath, massage, scrub package and cup of mint tea costs $47.50. Open for women Monday and Wednesday to Saturday; men, Tuesday and Sunday.
