Try Hotel Regyns Montmartre, 18 Place des Abbesses or the Timhotel Montmartre, on a little square just off rue Ravignan.
Hotel Ermitage looks like it would have the ambience of a B & B. I believe it's on rue Lamarck, and I suspect it does not take credit cards, fwiw.

Timhotel Montmartre would be a good choice because of its exceptional location in Montmartre, a lovely hotel, clean and affordable....

Good morning Kate: For bed and breakfast you could look into www.bedandbreakfastinparis.com There are quite a few in the area that you mentioned.

If you are looking for something small, quaint and oozing atmosphere, the timhotel montmarte will only fit the bill if you get an upper floor room with a view. be prepared for tiny rooms and a very businesslike atmosphere although the staff is very helpful.

check out www.bancotel.com for 50 euro night/double at timhotel certain dates this winter.
