Molvania anyone?
Has anyone read Molvania: A Land Untouched by Modern Dentistry? Saw it in one of the Smithsonians on Friday and laughed out loud! A small European country land of the Polka and the Whopping Cough. Some good light reading for your next trip to someplace better!!! Is there really such a place?

Geez, girl... of course there is! You haven't been there? We are ALL so much better traveled than you! Molvania is so "been there, done that". We all went there on one of our first twenty trips to Europe.

Best wishes,

We (Travelers in the know) have tried to keep Molvania Our Little Secret, lest it become over run with tourists in fanny packs and tennies.
Because , you do know, don't you? that there is a Black Market in Molvania for tennies and fanny packs?
My Dentist went there on holiday, he never returned..no one ever heard from him again..

They are actually planning to open a dental college there in the near future. I heard somewhere..maybe CNN..that they are asking for donations of pliers, small hammers, screwdrivers, balls of twine, and barbed wire. So check your tool sheds and see what you can come up with. All donations can be sent through your local Red Cross chapter.

Thanks Scarlett, that is a hilarious post!! I bought the book today at Barnes and Noble. I can not resist the sexy man with bad teeth on the cover. I am going to get a root canal tomorrow, should I give a copy to my dentist? LOL!!

Yes, Scarlett they do, but it's changed a bit. Entrants used to be required to be virgins, but since most virgins have been ravaged by the randy Molvanians, there are so few of them left, that it is now open to anyone with "virgin hair" rather than requiring them to be virgins themselves.

>Molvania is so yesterday.<
Jaded traveler's syndrom.
We have been to Molvania 3 times.
Even after the book came out we did not feel that the people or the country had significantly changed.
Our favorite driver, with his charming donkey cart, is still there to meet us as we pull into the station on our specially-chartered private draisine.

Did anyone catch Rachael Ray's episode of $40/day in Molvania? I don't think she liked Molvanian food since all she talked about was the large portions and the interesting decor and smell of the restaurants. Most people don't know this, but Molvanians were the first to enjoy the raw food diet. I learned when I studied abroad in Molvania that they were the pioneers of the pureed potato, and soon started to puree all veggies. Naturally, soft foods have always been popular there since cheweing is such a challenge for most Molvanians. If you want a good laugh, give your Molvanian friends an ear of corn on the cob. That'll keep you entertained for hours.

But hey Fodorites, what I want to know is it OK for guys to wear shorts in Molvania. And how about vest over tanks for the gals? I mean I worry, worry, worry that ThinG and NYCFS will have a fit and a half if we are not dressed properly in Molvania. So do tell, what is your opinion?
