kja,
I just found this today -- and yes, L'Approdo delle Sirene was charm itself! I loved the location -- and we did have a view, with small balcony, and I so enjoyed just looking out at the water from our room. Next time, I would splurge for the corner room to have windows on BOTH sides of the room! It was a bit windy in the mornings when we were there, so we didn't get to sit on the roof deck, but the breakfast room, with large windows and skylights, was not a sacrifice!

Yes, another change of jobs, this time, to a position that is more in line with what I love to do, so I'm looking forward to the change. Someday I hope to get to Indonesia, though, and I'm looking forward to reading all about it in your report!

Thanks for the lovely comments and all the help, kja - both are much appreciated.

kja,
If you look at my trip report thread, I've posted my photos from Ortygia, and a number of the hotel and it's views. I hope you enjoy!

Thanks, progol -- I appreciate your generous offer! Still, I must beg forgiveness -- I try not to look at other people's photos from places I visited -- I know it's silly, but I prefer my memories and even my own lousy pictures to the (usually) far better pictures that are always just a tad different from what I saw. Just one of my many quirks....

kja, that's fine! I can understand that -- I sometimes find it hard reading trip reports after I return, since there are so many places I wish I could return to visit because I missed something that looks wonderful, so I can certainly understand your feelings.
