Moderate $ hotel, nice location in Rome for me and elderly Mom?
We will be arriving early in the morning at FCO and taking a cruise from Cittavechio the following day. (May) As Mom can't do a lot of walking, any suggestions on location, hotel. We'd like a nice quiet neighborhood, with cafes, restaurants. Any tours to recommend as well?

Right near Plaza Navona is the Hotel Genio which has an elevator and is withing easy walking distance to nearby attractions. The front desk can help you make reservations for a day tour. I liked the Enjoy Rome tours, there are some in vans where you don't do much walking.

Thank you. I'll look into those hotels. Any thoughts on Trastever area, the B&B 11Terrazzino. I think there is a tram to take us into th heart of Rome. I read on Franco's post that it is a very nice area.

Yes Trastevere is a nice area, too, I don't know the B&B but if you like the rec, go for it. Check out the times the trams run. I think if I had an elderly mother with me I would rather be in the P. Navona area.
