Misselthwaite -Secret Garden-Where Filmed?

Hi, does anybody know what estate was featured as Misselthwaite Manor in the 1993 version of "The Secret Garden"? I realized they used different locations, but I am interested in the name of the building that was used as the exterior of the mansion. I'll be going to the UK this summer, and would love to visit this estate.

I think the exterior was Fountains Hall, which is part of the Fountains Abbey National Trust site.

The garden was mostly Allerton Park, near Knaresborough, also in Yorkshire.

Fountains Abbey outside of York is beautiful! You need a car to get there though.

A quick G**gle suggests Allerton Castle might be worth a look:

Hi
Allerton Castle was very badly damaged by fire in January of this year - it is a popular local venue for weddings (I live nearby). I'd check before visiting to see what the situation is. Fountains Hall is indeed in the Fountains Abbey site and many of its rooms are open to the public when they visit the more famous Abbey.
