Catalan has its liguistic origin in Provencal with th cultural capital being Barcelona. It is spoken throughout Catalunya and is the official language of Andorra.
Gallego is spoken in the northwest corner of Spain. It is a combination of Spanish and Portuguese with the pronounciation closer to Spanish.
Basque is a language of unknown origin. Nor is known why the speakers are restricted to northeasten Spain and southwesten France. There is no word in Basque for the language itself though there is a word for Basque speaker. Though unrelated it is closest to Finnish and Hungarian.
