Milan Hotels

Hello Folks - any recommendations for a nice, mid-level hotel ($150 - $200) in the city of Milan? Preferably within 2 miles (3 kilometers) within city center. Plan to travel in Dec. Thanks,

Probi

Hotel Canova: Check out the prices, location etc on the "venere" site and if you're interested contact them directly @ www.hotelcanova.com for any "special deals". Below is a past post of mine. Regards, Walter

Message: Thumbs up: I stayed there 2 nights earlier this month, it was recommended to me on rec.travel.europe in response to my post. ~200M from the train station, in a safe neighborhood, elevator, room safe, radio & tv (CNN, BBC), phone, minibar, desk, large closet, ensuite w.c. with sitdown 1/2 tub with wallmounted shower, bidet, hairdyer, AC, quiet even on the 1st/2nd floor facing the street, the room was nice, cheery with nice 1/2 wood walls. The Metro was within 50M and the hotel will provide parking (30,000L/day) right around the corner. My only complaint was the breakfast was alittle skimpy. I'm sure there are more romantic areas to stay in but this hotel is great if you want close access to the train station, airport buses, and rental car companies. HTH Regards, Walter

We stayed at Hotel Sanpi in Milan back in March it's a 4 star within walking distance from train station (1/2 mile) and about 10min walk from cathedral. Milan was very expensive, we got lucky thru hotels.com

Good Luck

Hi

I just got back from Milan and I stayed at a hotel called Marconi located at Repubblica metro station. I have posted a long review on the following address: http://www.epinions.com/content_103052119684

probi, We stayed at the Antica Locanda dei Mercanti in October. 135 euro double. very quiet, comfortable 5-7 minute walk to Duome. and convenient to metro and tram lines.
Buon viaggio, AndrewDavid

We stayed at the Capital Millieum Hotel. Right off the metro stop. It was a 4 star hotel - small, nice room with King size bed. The best thing was the jet tub in the bath at the end of our trip!!! The staff was nice and very helpful. We reserved on Travelocity or Expedia for $180 per night. We were there last month.
