Milan hotel recommendations

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Milan - close to major tourist sights that is within easy access by taxi to Linate airport? For the middle of September.

I have been to Milan three times, though only one of those was an actual overnight - - partly because I found to quite difficult to select a good value hotel. I can only tell you about this one hotel, which I would describe as lackluster at best - - nothing wrong with it, but nothing memorable either. A satisfactory value in a city where value is hard to find

http://www.venere.com/it/milano/piacenza

Technically not IN the Centro Storico of Milan - - see map at the bottom of the webpage http://www.venere.com/it/milano - - but central enough, and of course, easily acecessible by taxi (but I don't know where would a hotel be "in the centre" and affordable and NOT easy accessible by taxi).

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
We really liked the Antica Locanda dei Mercanti. On a quiet side street near the Duomo. Very small rooms and baths, but divine beds & linens. Breakfast not included, but served in your room upon request at extra $. We found it reasonable for Milan. Staff very helpful and English speaking if you care about that. They also responded to e mails & res requests immediately.

Buon viaggio!

We stayed for one night at the London Hotel in Milan. It is 2 blocks from the Duomo and the staff was very nice. I think that it worked out to around $80 night 3 years ago.

Wendy
