Milan Airport Hotel for 18 yo student

My son is traveling San Francisco to Florence for summer school. He will travel SFO to Heathrow with a 2 hour layover before departing for Milan.
He arrives in Milan at 5:45 PM and needs to be in Florence the next day for school. My idea is for him to stay in Milan for the night and take a train the next day to Florence.

Need suggestions for a Milan Malpensa hotel for one night.

Thank you.

Rather than a hotel at the airport, he should take the Malpensa Shuttle (bus) to the Centrale station and stay at a hotel in the general area. His train to Florence will depart from this station.

What's your hotel budget?

Hello mendota, going along with Jean's thoughts, which I agree with, here is the website for the Malpensa Shuttle which goes back and forth between the Malpensa Airport and the Centrale (Central) train station in Milan. Your son would then be close to the Centrale train station to catch the train to Florence the next morning.

I've stayed at the Mini Hotel Aosta which is across the street from Milan Centrale train station.

Hi,thank you Jean, LoveItaly, and Kybourbon.
Ok he will take the shuttle to the train station and stay nearby.
My budget would be $100-$130 for the hotel near the train station.
He arrives in Milan at Malpensa Terminal 1.
Where would he board the shuttle bus ?
Thank you.

Do look at the link LoveItaly mentioned. It provides complete info about the Shuttle.

The Shuttle stops at Terminal 1's arrival floor, exit no. 5. Signage is very good, and your son should have no trouble finding the ticket office inside the terminal.

If you can get a room at Kybourbon's suggested Hotel Aosta, grab it. They offer a fantastic rate for Milan.
