Mercedes Vito

I am seeking information about the Mercedes Vito. I am not familiar with this vehicle but it described as vehicle that will carry six adults, six medium pieces of luggage and six golf bags. Is this accurate? What about vehicle handling and the narrow roads in the more rural areas? Any information would be useful.

Yes, this is accurate! It's a rather big van with 9 seats. When you remove the second row of 3 seats you have a big luggage space. It won't be easy to drive through narrow roads.

Meant to say when you remove the back row of 3 seats (the last row) ...

I solicited a ride (hitch-hiking) from some nice folks from Conroe, TX in a Vito last year: 4-big people (two couples), 4-Golf bags and 4-large pieces of luggage and there was room for my 240lb self and my rolling duffle bag.

I just rode with them 10-15 miles (to Carne Golf links, Belmullet, Co.Mayo); the Van seemed to handle quite well. Gas mileage may not be that great and regular unleaded costs about 90 (Euro) cents a LITER. I think that comes out to about $4 USD a gallon.

Hi John,

Vitos run on diesel - which is running about 80 cents a litre at the moment. May be a little more in the countryside.

Diesel Vitos will give you about 600 miles on a full tank, but may cost you 60 euro to fill.

The Mercedes Vito is also sold here in the US as the Dodge Sprinter. I've seen my FedEx packages delivered to my door in one of them.

You can go to a Dodge dealer and check it out.

Where do find find the limitations on Mastercard CDW waiver that are vehicle make specific? I have just re-read the letter of coverage which I requested from Mastercard for presentation at the time of rental and I do not find a make specific exclusion.

Some credit cards do not cover "luxury car" rentals. And unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz MAY be considered one. They may well have different policies outside N. America (as M-B doesn't necessarily mean "luxury" elsewhere), but definitely check with the credit card company beforehand.
