We are doing a Princess Cruise western Mediterranean leaving Athens on 26 May 18 and arriving in Rome 9 June. Stops at Santorini, kotor Sicily Naples Barcelona Gibraltar Marseille Genoa Livorno then Rome. Any advise, tips and tricks would be welcome.

Fly into Athens at least one day early. If you have have not been to Rome before, try to stay several extra nights at the end.

We found Santorini (self guided walking tour), Barcelona (loved the Gaudi sites) and Gibraltar (negotiated with a cab driver when we got off the ship to take us to my list of places) easy to tour on our own.
