Masterpiece Theatre Channel Islands
I noticed another post about this and thought I would brave the scorn of those who talk strictly about travel. I haven't been able to find the answer on the PBS web site. Is there another part of this series? The fifth episode seems to leave much unresolved! Did BBC have more episodes?

Only 6 episodes, apparently, and then it was axed because of poor ratings:

It was a commercial ITV production rather than BBC. I can't remember what it was up against, but ITV have had a number of dramas set in WW2 recently and somehow you can hear the research going on in the background, and the foreground seems somehow not quite right. I don't know if that was true in this case.

Good morning, marlib,
I believe that this Masterpiece Theater -"Islands at War", is 5 part and the last one shown will be Sunday the 20th of Feb.
The episode we saw this past Sunday was by no means the last one..there is much to do yet!

This is great, you can read more about the Channel Islands also.
Be careful reading about the last episode, you don't want to spoil it for yourself!

jmw44, I stayed on Jersey for three days and four nights five or six years ago. We were touring France and on the spur of the moment, took a ferry to Jersey. We were so glad we did, because our stay on Jersey was the best little trip we have ever had. The island is chock full of little villages, with churches and pretty high streets. There are B&B's in every village, and sometimes there are even small hotels. The Tourist Information center found us two different B&B's to stay in, and both were awesome and inexpensive. We drove all over Jersey and ate in some very good restaurants. There are many very wealthy people living on Jersey, and that may explain why the place is so lovely. Go, if you get a chance. It is a wonderful place.

"Island at War" was not shot on the Channel Islands, but on the Isle of Man,and Manchester UK.There was a television series that was actually shot on the island of Jersey in the early 1980's called "Bergerac".It stared John Nettles who is also the lead actor in the "Midsommer Murders" TV series.
Incidentally the whole "Islands at War series will be released on DVD on Feb.15.
