Yes, Marseille is indeed marvelous as your TR shows and yes, it is much maligned like other great cities, Naples come to mind. Great photos--such blue skies in many of them.

Fantastic report! I spent Easter week in Marseilles in 2023 and loved the people, food, architecture, history, climate ... all fascinating. Best of all, it is a super walkable city, and we enjoyed two walking tours to delve deep into neighborhood stories and foods.
