Reliable Dutch carrier, mostly charter flights.

We used them about 18 years ago, and had a problem, but maybe they've improved since then. Going from NY to Amsterdam was fine, but when we tried to check in at the Amsterdam airport for the return trip, we were told that we were on stand-by because we were booked as travel agents (we're not). We spent several anxious hours and didn't find out that we'd get on the plane until a few minutes before it took off.

Has anybody had any recent experience with Martinair?
We got a really good deal on a flight from Montego Bay Jamaica to Amsterdam (non stop).
I've never travelled on this airline and would really appreciate any feedback.
Thanks guys & girls.

Friends of ours recently flew to the Caribbean with Martinair. No problem.
