Hi, In a book, "The Food Lover's Companion to Tuscany" by Carla Capalbo, there in an appendix listing the daily markets in each village in Tuscany. No elaboration but a complete listing. In the text on each area, she does make comments about some of the markets. You may want to check it out.

Question Peter...we are staying outside Florence and would normally take the bus or train into the city to avoid parking, traffic etc. Can I drive to Sesto Fiorintino without going through Florence? And if not, is there any way other than car I can get there?

lvy depending on where outside of florence you are stayung it is very likely that you may drive directly to sesto avoiding downtown florence. you need a map of the area-try borders or a like bookstore. there is public transportation by bus in that area. im sure you could try that also. if you go try the roast pig sandwich from the vendor in the truck-it was heavenly. we stayed there overlooking the square in our cousins apt. im sure you would like it good trip and leat me know how you liked it
