I've stayed in Aix many times and love the market, which takes place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There is always a section devoted to antiques/bric-a-brac. I also enjoy visiting the depot-vente in the Avenue des Belges, which is only a couple of minutes walk from the tourist office and right across from the main Post Office. The depot-vente is in a huge, underground garage and takes items on consignment and from house clearance. As regards a restaurant, we love "Le Poivre d'Ane" at 7, rue de al Couronne. This is in the old town, a 4 minute walk from the Cours Mirabeau. They are closed Sunday and Monday and only open for dinner. Reservations are a good idea and theirphone no. is 0442-93.45.56. You'll need the code for France first. We'll be back in Aix for three nights next month.
