Marina Grande area of Sorrento

Is this a good place to stay? Looking at the Admiral Hotel (which says it has a shuttle to the main piazza area of town). A sea view room is very reasonable, and this location looks convenient to day tripping by hydrofoil.

Marina Grande area is nice and has very authentic, non-touristy feel to it. It is a fairly short walk to the main part of town. However this is not the marina that the hydofoils run out of. You will have to hike to the main marina in town for that - probably a twenty minute walk.

Day trips leave from Marina Piccola which is in fact the bigger marina.

And..if you decide to go to Marina Piccola, the Hotel Faro is tucked into the mountainside and has a terrific restaurant. The bus to town stops right in front and that ride alone is worth the adventure!

The hotel manager says she can book a transfer from the Naples airport to the hotel for 80 euros. Is this a good price?

Yes OTC - € 80 is good.

Alternatively you could get the Curreri Airport Shuttle (€ 7.00 approx) direct to Sorrento - it takes about 1 hour.

Deps at:
09.00 - 11.30 - 13.00 - 14.30 - 16.30 - 19.30
