I, too, hope Maribel and her loved ones, friends and neighbors are safe and sound. But I will also understand if she has more pressing concerns than reporting in to us right now.
Our thoughts are with you and your fellow madrilenos, Maribel.

Unless she has moved, I believe Maribel is currently a resident of the US. I seem to recall her saying at some point that she and her husband (who was a Madrileno) go back frequently to visit family.
In any case, I hope that she and her loved ones are all safe and well.

I am in the US today sadly preparing for our departure for Madrid watching these deeply wrenching events unfold on Spanish television. While I'm grateful to God that no family member or friend has been a victim, I pray that none of our Spanish friends here has lost a loved one, a friend, a neighbor in this horrific act. I join the rest of you in sending my deepest condolences, all my prayers, my solidarity and sympathy to our Fodor friends in Spain in this moment of unspeakable sadness for the nation.

Maribel, I am so glad to hear that you are allright - you have been such a help and inspiration to those of us asking about Spain. I am also heartsick over the events and pray that those who have lost loved ones will be blessed by a peace that is beyond our understanding. God have mercy on us all.
