wmkibler,
If you love gardens, you'll love Giverney! The American impressionists museum is good, too.
Barb,
We didn't take the cruise, although it was on our list of possible things to do. We ended up just walking along the canal, and enjoyed seeing it that way.
The cruise is pretty long- I think about 2 1/2 hours?, with a lot of it being underground, and it just seemed like a little more time than we wanted to commit.
ehughes and grandmere,
We only had drinks at Le Train Bleu, but loved it, and would love to have a meal there someday- It is an incredible place.
rlbplf,
Both Col. Chilcott and his wife seemed to be well.
Mrs. Chilcott is a delightful person, and served us coffee in their breakfast room before we started our tour.
butterflygirl,
It seems to me that it would be hard to do justice to Normandy as a daytrip from Paris, but I know that lots of people do it that way.
We spent almost a week in the area and could have used more time.
Kate,
You might be surprised at how nice the gardens could be in mid-September. I haven't been there then, but we were amazed at how nice the gardens at the Rodin museum in Paris looked even in November.

Lovely photos! And whetted my appetite for plans for next summer's trip. I, too appreciate seeing the images-- it makes it so much more real. I enjoyed seeing the photos from Paris, areas that I haven't explored and now want to see, thanks to your pix!

My daughter and I will be in Paris next year in early May, so lovely to see people on the streets in your pics. I really like to see street scenes so I can imagine being there!
Lovely flower and handsome stranger pictures, many thanks!

Marcy, that was fantastic! The colors are so stunning (some are so pretty they almost look fake). Who was the fantastic photographer? I like the setup of Kodakgallery & the ease of viewing. And I really liked your juxtaposition of the Monet painting with the photo of Honfleur - very clever!
You make me long for Paris!

Wow! Your photos are really lovely. My DH is a professional photog and the Photo Operations Manager at a city newspaper... I see my share of nice photography, and I have to say that your photos are gorgeous. Thanks!

What can I say that everyone else hasn't? Nothing, sorry, brain is going to sleep Wonderful photos!
I have a large patch of forget-me-nots and will definitely plant pink tulips among them in the Fall.
Thanks for the idea

Thank you all for your kind remarks.
My husband and I both like to take pictures.
The nice thing with digital photography is that you can take as many as you want, and if you take enough pictures, some of them are bound to turn out.
Danna,
I have dibs on the handsome stranger.
beatchick,
We wanted to go to Etretat partly because of seeing Monet's painting of the coastline there- so it was fun to compare our view with his.
alya,
I have forget-me-nots in my garden, too, but somehow mine are not nearly as luxuriant as the ones at Giverney. I wonder what the secret is.
I loved that color combination of the pink tulips with the forget-me-nots.

Wow! That evil-looking little green thing isn't what I meant to type ( ;.) I guess I better be careful with emoticoms wFodors.
Doubley upset my husband wouldn't taxi me to Le Train Bleu -- but now another reason to go back to Paris.

Marcy,
Love your photos. I'm now convinced I have to see Paris same time as you. We were just 2 weeks after you and what a huge difference. Did you post a trip report? I'd love to read it if you did. Thanks for the eye feast!
