Marble Arch Hotel in London?

My parents are staying here next week, any comments on the hotel? Any good restaurants or shops near by?

The Marble Arch Hotel is now the Thistle Marble Arch. It is an older, art-deco style hotel but several years ago rooms were renovated and were quite pleasant. You have to go up an escalator to the level where you check-in. The location is wonderful as it overlooks Oxford Street where you will find most of the major shopping and department stores within walking distance. Don't know any restaurants close to this hotel, but your parents will find no shortage of restaurants just a short taxi ride or tube ride away. I recall several fast food restaurants in area also. The Hotel does have a restaurant and bar.

Very nearby is a great little pub called The Three Tuns that had very good fish and chips and local clientele. If they want to do a pub thing, have them ask at the hotel's front desk for directions - it's walking distance, 1 to 2 blocks off Oxford Street.

They're also going to be pleasantly close to the Marble Arch tube stop, which is handy.

And the Marble Arch Marks & Spencers has a great food department, if they want to pick up some things for in their room.
Selfridges, next to M&S also has a wonderful food department.
There's a good (but expensive) Indian restaurant not far away called Porte des Indes.
Just past Selfridges, on the left, there is a narrow street entrance (easily missed); St Christopher's place. Some nice shops and restaurants there.

Carluccios in St. Christophers Place is excellent, and not too expensive.
