Dear Maribel, I hate to ask you also but could you send me your file. We're leaving for Madrid on Dec. 25 and spending 4 nights there. Do I need to make a dinner reservation at the restaurant Botin now or can I wait til I get to Madrid? Also, will the Rastro be open the Sunday after Christmas?

Usually a couple of days ahead is o.k. to secure a reservation for Botin-or your hotel desk staff could do it for you.

I would assume that the Rastro flea market would take place the next Sunday after Xmas.

I just posted two rather lengthy threads about my trip to Madrid and Seville. Maribel's advise is priceless not to mention accurate!!

Maribel I am hoping you read this thread as I am wondering if you have any advise or files on Italy? That is where we are planning on taking our annual vacation next year!!

Maribel, We're planning a trip to Madrid, Avila, Segovia, Pedraza de la Sierra, Cordoba, & Granada in May. Unfortunately, one of the days in Madrid is May 1 & I understand everything will be closed. Any suggestions for things to do that day? What about restaurants? Will they be open? Also any suggestions for restaurants in the cities & towns we will be visiting? Thanks for any help you can give.
