Marbella vs. Puerto Banus vs. Something else.

Marbella vs. Puerto Banus vs. Something else.

I would appreaciate any suggestions you might have.

I am still confuse regarding the distribution of the Marbella area, how far are the distances. .

Are Marbella and Puerto Banus practically on the same area ? How far apart are they, walking distance?

From what I have read it seems that Marbella town is actually completely different from Puerto Banus. Marbella is a traditional Spanish town, while Puerto Banus is where the nightlife is. And they are quite far from each other. Can someone please clarify.

Am trying to look for a good hotel, I will be one night in Marbella, then go to Morroco then comeback for another 2 nights in Marbella. I figure I cool give a taste of Marbella town my first night, and my last two nights stay at a beach resort either in Puerto Banus or somewhere else, would anybody recommend a good area along the Marbella coast line with a nice , but not extremely price hotel, Would Fuengirola or Banalmadena be better beach towns options than Marbella.

Please help, I am clueless.

Hi,

Yeah Puerto banus is about 8 kms away from Marbella town. Its a nice walk along the promendade/walkway but would take well over an hour - easy to get taxis and buses tho. Marbella old town is located just slightly up from the more modern town and is absolutely gorgeous with orange trees, narrow winding streets and quaint restaurants. The modern town is nice too though, surprisingly untacky for the area with beautiful beaches, nice restaurants & bars.... Puerto Banus is where the wild nights and seriously monied are and everything is extortionate!! We stayed at Playa Princessa hotel right on the seafront at the promendade in Marbella, in the quieter part of the modern town - highly recommend! I would much rather stay in the modern side of Marbella than Fuengirola or Benalmadena - we passed both these towns and were so glad we werent staying there but thats just my opinion Marbella is lovely!

You might make note of the part that discussed Gaucin which I hope to visit soon, It is a short drive from there.
