Have one night in the airport Radisson before a morning flight back to US. Are there any pubs or restaurants nearby or do we have to eat in the hotel? Would love one last "authentic" meal before heading home!

How close is nearby?

A 10 minute taxi ride will take you to some of the best residential areas of Manchester. Wilmslow and Alderley Edge have many good restaurants/pubs.

The food in the hotel is average at best.

Better still take the train from the station at the side of the hotel into the centre of Manchester which is around a 20 minute journey and no complications with cars.

The hotel is a good choice, it isn't the best in the world but is best location, being part of Terminal 2.

We must have flown out of Manchester nearly 100 times, the traffic at during rush hours can result in you having to set off well before your check in time. Staying at the airport makes a lot of sense.

At least 3 of the pubs are in THE dangerous area of Manchester. I wouldn't dream of sending an international tourist to them. I will not name them as it would be unfair to the residents of the area. It is well know that areas Of Wythenshawe Are vertual no go areas.

My brother is a building contractor and had the misfortune to win the contract to renovate the area. It was the worst mistake of his life.

Thank you so much! I'll stick with the areas you mentioned; two ladies (we traveling without our husbands who have little interest in the Lake District!) don't need to be in a pub in a sketchy neighborhood.

A small family chain of pubs, one of theirs is my favourite pub in Britain.

I really like the restaurant in Bewleys Hotel in the airport -so much so that this is part of the holiday for us. The food is consistently good and the menu varied with an emphasis on local produce. As we live about an hour and a half away we know that once we check in we are on the doorstep and about to have a good meal.
From time to time we also go to Dili in Altrincham which you can reach from the airport by bus. This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in the U.K.!

I agree with belted about the area of Manchester, turned a job down next to one bit for just the same reason.

I'd take the train into central Manchester.

I'm pleased that Frances likes Bewley food. I find Bewleys a prison cell of a place so I've avoided eating there.
