Planning on a 4 night holiday in Malta in November - Please give me your thoughts.

I was in Valetta over Thanksgiving weekend two years ago. It was very, very quiet, and frankly, a bit boring. If I go back to Malta it will be when the weather is better and the beach is an option.

lizziea06, thanks for the comment. i will be travelling with my wife. we're both in our early 50's and love to see cultural and historical sights. when you mention quiet and boring, do you mean: not too many tourists around? how about shops and places of intestest, were they open at the time? appreciate your comments. regards, ben

I visited Malta in May a few years ago and it was quiet then. Malta is a quiet place; not much activity outside the beaches, St. Julian's, and Valletta. Valletta shuts down by 11:00 and at that time of night we were lucky to get the last bus. There's probably more activity in the St. Julian's area as that's where the younger people congregate. But Valletta is your best option for sightseeing and public transportation which I highly recommend over renting a car.

We're going in November on a cruise stop and are just like you Ben. We are making the highlight of our stop there the Hypogeum. Only 10 people allowed in at one time and need to make reservations. We're very excited and just Google it and see. jk
