Madrid in August-advice needed

We are a family of four staying in Madrid for three nights in August. Any advice on what to do to beat the heat but also enjoy the city? Kids are ages 8 and 10. Thanks!

El Retiro Park. Rent a boat on the pond, see the entertainment, eat ice creams under a tree.
The Archeological Museum might be interesting for young kids.
See a flamenco show.
Tour the city via tuk tuk so you’re not walking around in the heat.
Visit the Royal Palace (buy tickets ahead of time so you don’t stand in line in the heat!)
