Madrid Flamenco Show November 6 - 8
would love to watch an authentic show and can't decide between a show at Casa Patas(never been) or Corral De la Morreria( went 5 yrs ago)
Casa PATAS on Saturday 6th November :-
PALOMA FANTOVA Y DAVID PANIAGUA- Bailaores
Al cante: JOSÉ JIMÉNEZ Y JUAN JOSÉ AMADOR “EL PERRE”
Al toque: PACO HEREDIA Y JUAN JIMÉNEZ
A la percusión: LUIS AMADOR
Cantando “alante”: JUAN JOSÉ AMADOR AMADOR, “EL PERRE”, “CHICO”
OR
Corral De la Morreria Saturday -
Blanca del Rey, Flamenco National Award
Or on any other day there is a performance by:- Inmaculada Ortega and Jesús Aguilera
Which one would you recommend as a MUST SEE show. We are thinking of the late show just drinks as read that food options are better elsewhere.
thanks in advance

While Inmaculada Ortega is far and away the bigger name at the moment I would go for Casa Patas to see Paloma Fantova and David Paniagua are representative of young flamenco.
(sorry people, I myself am not young, but they are more happening) Blanca del Rey is also a beutiful classy dancer who is practically an icon at Moreria, I would say She has been the headliner on Saturdays for many (many) years.
And while i'm at it I will recommend the dinner at CP I thought it was pretty good and gets you a better seat although I know many do not agree with me
And always go the later show.
OK KIm what do you think???

Casa Patas on the 6th at midnight sounds like an excellent idea.
If you don't dine at Casa Patas, one of the best restaurant/tapas districts in town is close by, in and around C/Cava Baja. Txirimiri in Calle del Humilladero, 6 gives you an idea of why the Basque kitchen is considered one of the finest in the world.

Also many nice places in and around Plaza Santa Ana. I like Hemingways old favourite, boisterous Cervecería Alemana in Plaza Santa Ana, 6.

Saw on the other post that you are celebrating your birthday in Madrid. Excellent and traditional Madrid restaurant Posada de la Villa is close by your hotel:

High class and old world Horcher is neither far off: http://www.restaurantehorcher.com/
Or take a short taxi ride to Goizeko Wellington to experience the world famous Basque cuisine:

Haven't been to El Paraguas, but it gets raving reviews everywhere.
Three restaurants in Madrid with three "soles" (suns) in the Repsol guide for 2010, the Spanish national equivalent to the Michelin guide (I think El Paraguas has got one "sol"):
Horcher, Diverxo (with the youngest chef in Spain with three "soles") and Santceloni.
And two other great basque options:

You should also check out El Mentidero de la Villa. Small and intimate and the year-long favourite of my gourmet brother-in-law:

I liked Posada de la Villa (heavy on meats) and also Orixe which is very nearby & also El Scotis (really heavy on meats) is fairly close too. Of the 3 Orixe is the smallest but the most modern and inventive in the menu. I would go there for the lunch menu del dia on a different day. But all three are deelish! Certainly not Michelin rated though...if you have the $$ go for it! I have always wanted to go to Goizeko & El Oaraguas sounds wonderful Please give a report when you return!

sorry to bother you again but if you had to name your top 2 favorite restaurants to book Sunday night and Monday night what will they be? Lunches will probably try tapas and maybe Orixe one day and Saturday evening do a tapas crawl around St Ana
