Only been to Paris once and will be going back this winter. When we went into a pastery shop to look at the goodies, I had to take a few minutes to look and decide on what I wanted. The employees really want you to get in there, decide and get out in a hurry. How do you politely say in French that I need a little more time to decide or something of that nature? I see posts like this (about macaroons etc) and am anxious to really enjoy the experience.

I haven't had this problem, even in rush hour. However,
"J'ai besoin d'une minute, s'il vous plait."
I need a minute, please.

My advice would be to go to the original Laduree on Rue Royale with a friend and order the mini-macarons in every flavor and cut them in half to share and sample for yourself.
I'm partial to the orange, lemon and caramel with sea salt myself.
