Thank you for Randy Lofficier's website. It is beautiful and informative. I was intrigued by la bambouseree but couldn't figure out where it is. does anyone know? It must be obscure because I can't find it in my books

Do you mean the Bambouseraie de Prafrance? www.bambouseraie.fr

The nearest big city is Alès which is a bit north of Nimes.

There is a steam train that runs between St Jean du Gard and Anduze which has a stop for the Bambouseraie on it. I took it last spring with my Dad. It was a lot of fun. We saw the bamboo from the train, but we didn't go in. My Dad was much more interested in the train.
