Luxe agriturismo between Siena and Florence
Hello!
I am trying to find a luxurious agriturismo in Tuscany. Looking for a place that's about an hour-ish from Florence that is beautiful, has delicious food, and has animals. Big animal lovers! Perhaps in San Gimignano or Lucca. This is for a honeymoon trip with my husband. We've never been to Italy before. We are visiting Assisi and Siena and will have a car. Wanted to drive to another small town and experience the farm life for a night. We are going in November (please don't tell me it's going to rain. I prefer to live in denial - haha).
Any tips would be amazing and much appreciated!!

Hi EMILYSO,
My suggestion is LAFOCE - fabulous, but a bit south of Sienna I believe. Confession, I have only been in the area, but this agriturismo gets great reviews and has a very rich history. It's on my "bucket list."

I stayed at Fattoria La Loggia (http://www.fattorialaloggia.com/index_gb.htm ) some years ago, a working farm midway between Florence and Siena with upscale villas and apartments. The place was fabulous: Really pleasant accommodations, perfect location, and the great pleasure of fantastic breakfast delivered each morning to enjoy on our private patio.

I just got back from an amazing stay at this agriturismo last week! No animals there as it is a working winery and olive oil producer. It is right outside San Gimignano about 1/2 way between Florence and Siena. You can even walk to San Gimignano from the agriturismo, though I was perfectly happy sitting on the breakfast terrace enjoying my view of SG. The grounds and staff were wonderful. They offer wine tastings as well as cooking classes. Here is their website:
