Lunch in Venice
Will have two days in Venice in October (our second visit) and would appreciate recommendations regarding more authentic ( not as touristy) places for lunch. One meal I look forward to in Italy is fegato (liver) but am most interested in smaller, local restaurants.
Any help would be wonderful.

Hi Micarda,
I love La Corte Sconta for lunch or dinner. (Calle del Prestin, Castello, 3886. Near the Arsenale. tel. 041-522-7024; closed Sunday and Monday). An old-school seafood-oriented trattoria. They base their daily menu on whatever the Chioggia fish market has to offer. Delish!

My recent trip report includes eight days in Venice. There's an address book at the end of the report for all restaurants.

Oh.. I love Corte Sconta too. We've always managed a meal there when we've visited Venice. I've usually been disappointed when we've visited in Oct. because they've stopped serving in the courtyard. (Maybe it'll still be open early in the month.)
