Ludlow restaurant recom plz?

I have decided that I really have to go to Ludlow on our upcoming trip. Since it is well-known for food I have also decided that that is where we will have our 'special treat' meal. Can anyone recommend restaurants or pubs with good but hopefully not insanely expensive food in Ludlow? Unfortunately I am on a low-fat diet (medical reasons) - so I also need a place with broiled (as opposed to fried) stuff preferably fish or chicken or lean meat or a chief willing to adapt things.

Thanks for any suggestions.

We've had some of our best meals in the UK in Ludlow.Unfortunately 2 of the best have closed but at least Hibiscus has moved to London!!

Mr Underhill's is excellent.I'm sure that they would have something to accommodate your dietary restrictions. Or maybe for one evening you could forgo them

You could try The Clive. If you exlain your dietary needs when you reserve, the kitchen has an opportunity to ensure that you can be catered for.

I agree with Avalon - for a special meal it has to be the one (out of three) remaining Michelin-starred restuarants, Mr Underhill's.
