Lucerne where to stay
Hello
we plan to be in Lucerne for 3 days during 3rd week of June; need some recommendations on where to stay
prefer something that's not too commercial- kind of nature & also be able to cover the popular attraction in Lucerne like Mt Tittlis,/Enleberg Pilatus, Lake Lucerne, etc
pls advise
thanks much

How many of you are there and what is your budget?
And those mountains are sort of near - not IN - Lucerne. So it's not clear if you want lodging in the town - or out in a small village in the countryside (IMHO the town has much better transport options and a lot to see and do - but it IS a town.)

Several years ago we really enjoyed staying at Hotel Des Alpes, located right on the river in Luzern. Our room had a balcony overlooking all the riverside activity.
It is right in town, but we walked everywhere, including to the dock to take the boat trip on the lake.

Have a wonderful trip.

We have stayed at Grand National (beyond your budget and a BIG splurge for us) and also at Ibis Styles. Ibis is in your budget, plus you can get a room with twin-sized bed for the boy. Location is about 2 blocks from the lakefront, but within easy walking distance to train station and shopping/dining areas. Ibis gets lots of tour groups so it can be quite busy, especially at breakfast (included).
Another option might be Hotel De la Paix. It is quite basic. I think price is a bit less than Ibis, and location is about a block closer to shopping/dining and the train station/old bridge area.
