Lucca

Hi Me again. We are spending 2 days in Florence. It has been suggested that we train it to Lucca for Half a day. Is Lucca worth losing half day in Florence? Thanks in anticipation. We have 11 year old with us.

Absolutely not. Focus on Florence. Botticelli, Michelangelo, Caravaggio and gelato. And ribollita.

Hi P,

Lucca is a very pleasant, quiet town.

However, with only 2 days in Florence I suggest that you stay in Florence.

Save an evenng to take the no.7 bus up to Fiesole to watch the sun set over the city from the terrace of the Bar Bleu.

I love Lucca, but 2 days in Florence is at least 3 days too few IMO, so stay there.

Just chiming in to say I agree with the advice from the others. I spent 2 weeks in Lucca going to a language school and I loved it. But if you only have 2 days in Florence, don't bother.
