louis vuitton has lines in paris

fyi, just wanted to inform shoppers that the Louis Vuitton stores all had lines of tourists (mostly japanese) so the way it works is, that to get served, you need to wait in line, thankfully, it's formed inside (too cold to stand outside). the wait depends on each store, time of day, how long each person is taking, etc. i'd get there when it opened for any of you. the boutique in galeries lafayette is the smallest with the worst selection. the others were large and beautiful.
also, the josephine mini monogram style is sold out in all the paris stores ( the one i wanted!).
happy shopping!

Well, there are no lines in the Brussels store...and they seem fully stocked at the moment.
I bought my husband a LV Palm Pilot case for his birthday. I already knew what I wanted, the color, etc. The salespeople are used to customers dithering and taking their time to make up their mind, so they were a bit taken aback at completing my sale in about 30 seconds. I had my dog with me and had to laugh when they thought I was there to get her a LV collar and leash.

THis is not unusual for Paris storesand Galleries Lafayette to have lines out the door, they have guards to watch the lines and keep things orderly. They handle shopping crowds very well in Paris.Buses bring in Japanese tourists to shop as part of their tours.

You could just go over to Montemarte and buy some pretty good fakes from the street vendors on the steps...be hell of a lot cheaper and looks just the same right?

I was in Paris in April 2001 and wanted an LV bag so I went to the store in the 6e. There was no line. In fact, other than 3 Japanese teenagers, I was the only customer there. This was during the day on a Friday I think (not a holiday or anything). The day after I came home there was an article in the NY Times about the lines. I am stumped.
